Fiber jumpers

What is an optical fiber jumpers?
Optical Fiber Patch Cable: After processing the optical fiber cable and the optical fiber connector through a certain process, the two ends of the optical fiber cable are fixed to the optical fiber connector, thereby forming an optical fiber with an optical fiber cable in the middle and optical fiber connectors at both ends Jumper.

Classification of fiber optic patch cords
Classified by mode: Divided into single-mode fiber and multi-mode fiber
Single-mode fiber: The color of the general fiber jumper is yellow, and the connector and protective cover are blue; the transmission distance is longer;
Multi-mode fiber: OM1 and OM2 jumpers are orange, OM3 and OM4 jumpers are aqua green, the transmission distance of OM1 and OM2 is 550 meters at Gigabit speed, the transmission distance of OM3 is 300 meters at 10 Gigabit speed, and the transmission of OM4 The speed is 400 meters; the connector and protective cover are beige or black;

Classified by connector type:
Commonly used types of fiber optic patch cords include LC fiber patch cords, SC fiber patch cords, FC fiber patch cords, and ST fiber patch cords.
①LC optical fiber jumper: It is made of easy-to-operate modular jack (RJ) latch mechanism, connected to SFP optical module, and is often used in routers;
②SC optical fiber jumper: its shell is rectangular, the fastening method adopts the plug-in bolt type, does not need to rotate, connects to the GBIC optical module, the router switch is the most used, and has the characteristics of low price and small fluctuation in access loss;
③FC optical fiber jumper: The outer protective cover is a metal cover, and the fastening method is a turnbuckle, which is most used on the distribution frame. It has the advantages of strong tightness and dust resistance;
④ST optical fiber jumper: the outer shell is round, the fastening method is a turnbuckle, and the core is exposed. After the plug is inserted, there is a bayonet to fix it, which is mostly used for optical fiber distribution frames.

Classified by application:
Fiber optic jumpers are generally divided into MTP/MPO fiber optic jumpers, armored fiber optic jumpers, and conventional fiber optic jumpers according to their application.
①MTP/MPO fiber jumper: common in the fiber line environment that requires high-density integration during the wiring process, its advantages: simple use of push-pull locking structure, convenient installation and removal, saving time and cost, and maximizing service life;
②Armored optical fiber jumper: common in the machine room, suitable for harsh environments. Its advantages: no need to use protective casing, moisture-proof and fire-proof, anti-static and acid and alkali resistance, can save space and reduce construction costs;
③Conventional fiber optic patch cords: Compared with MTP/MPO fiber optic patch cords and armored fiber optic patch cords, it has strong scalability, compatibility and interoperability, and can effectively reduce costs.
